DESIGN HISTORY
What is SELF?:

There are 8 billion people on earth right now, and five questions source our meaning of life and purpose. All humans struggle to answer these five key questions deep-seated in our hearts. In a definite sense, these five questions motivate every human, it doesn’t matter your ethnicity, socioeconomic conditions, propaedeutic background, or perception. These five questions are the source of our self-discovery and self-love. They control our economic indicators, and they control our sense of culture and our vocations. They source of colonial mentality, all the corruption in government sectors, all the corruption in the pulpit in religious sectors, and they are the source of all our youth and our adult problems. These five questions are so powerful that they control the entire world, and they control everything we do and the way we act. They motivate our behaviour, and this exhibition is designed to answer these five questions.”

- Who am I? This is a question of identity. The average person doesn’t know who they are.
- Where am I from? This question has nothing to do with ethnicity, and yet you must know where you came from.
- Why am I here? This question is of purpose, and if you don’t answer it your life will become aimless and busy without fulfilment.
- What can I do? This is a question of potential. One cannot ever know their full potential without the knowledge of purpose (self-discovery).
- Where am I going? This is a question of destination, of finality. Everything irrevocably will come to an end. Where are you going with your life? This exhibition is an artistic catalyst for dialogue with the communities about ideas that define the self.

We embark on a journey that traverses the most profound battlefield we will ever encounter. This battlefield is not a physical place but a psychological and emotional area where the most critical confrontation of our life takes place, the battle of “You vs. You.” Understanding self-conflict is essential to personal growth and transformation. The internal Battle between our present self and our potential self is a universal experience. A fundamental aspect of Human existence that has profound implications for our lives. This conflict is a dynamic and often tumultuous interplay between who we are now and who we have the capacity to become. It is a struggle rooted in our consciousness and our ability to envision a future self that is more accomplished, enlightened, or fulfilled. Our present self is a product of our past experiences, habits and choices. It is shaped by our upbringing, environment and the cumulative effect of our decisions over time. This self is familiar and comfortable, anchored in the routines and patterns that define our daily lives; however, this comfort can become a double-edged sword, creating resistance to change in growth.

In contrast, our potential self represents the ideal version of who we could become. It embodies our highest aspirations, dreams and the full realization of our talents and abilities. This potential self is not limited by past mistakes or current limitations, but it is guided by a vision of future possibilities.

Self-doubt is the insidious voice inside your head that questions your abilities, undermines your confidence and magnifies your fears. It is a voice that tells you -  you can’t do it, or you’re not good enough, or what if you fail. This internal critic is a formidable adversary often rooted in past experiences, societal expectations and deeply ingrained beliefs. To overcome self-doubt, you must engage in a conscious and deliberate effort to reframe your mindset and build the foundation of self-belief and resilience.
